The Business Energy Use Survey is an annual survey conducted by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) collecting information about energy use by businesses in Ireland, under Commission Regulation (EC) No.431/2014 of 24 April 2014 which is an amendment of Regulation (EC) 1099/2008 of the European Parliament and the Council of 22 October 2008. This inquiry is conducted under the Statistics (Business Energy Use Survey) Order 2016 (S.I. No 116 of 2016) made under the Statistics Act, 1993.
This survey conducted by the CSO for the purpose of estimating energy consumption and cost in the Manufacturing, Construction and Selected Services sectors of the Irish economy in 2017, in order to calculate Ireland's
Energy Balance and to comply with Ireland's mandatory reporting of Energy Statistics under EU Regulation.
This form should be completed by the owner, facilities manager, energy manager, office manager, financial controller or accountant, as appropriate, using the units specified in the survey. The data should cover all branches
operated by the enterprise in the Republic of Ireland, and only refer to energy used to operate the business in the calendar year January 2017 to December 2017 inclusive. All monetary values should exclude VAT.
The information you provide will be treated as strictly confidential in accordance with Section 33 of the Statistical Act 1993 and with EU law. It will be used only for statistical purposes.
