The Building and Construction Inquiry is an annual statutory survey which collects structural information from key year end accounting variables for the Construction Industry (including the allied trades). This includes building
and construction work at all sites within the State and any subsidiary (e.g. joinery) activity.
This Inquiry is conducted under the 1993 Statistics (Structural Business Inquiries) Order 2017, Number 572, made under the 1993 Statistics Act.
The Statistics are also required for EU comparisons under Council Regulation (EC) No. 295/2008 concerning Structural Business Statistics.
The confidentiality of all information you provide is statutorily guaranteed by the Statistics Act. Data will be used only for statistical purposes and will not be divulged to any outside body including other Government Departments.
